AroundTown: Body opposes move on 12.36% service tax

Property Consultants Association submitted a memorandum to the UT Finance Secretary V K Singh against the move to charge 12.36 per cent service tax from those who got their industrial plots converted from 2007 onwards.

CHANDIGARH: Property Consultants Association submitted a memorandum to the UT Finance Secretary V K Singh against the move to charge 12.36 per cent service tax from those who got their industrial plots converted from 2007 onwards. The tax will be applicable on leasehold commercial and industrial policy. The members said that the Administration should allow conversion of plots into freehold.

Encroachments removed in Sector 18 and 41

CHANDIGARH: The enforcement wing of Municipal Corporation,on Thursday,removed encroachments from Krishna Market,Sector 41 and Sector 18. As many as 45 violators were issued challans in Sector 41,while 25 in Sector 18. The material that was placed in the corridors of the markets was seized. The drive was held under the supervision of Additional Commissioner Lalit Siwach.

Tree plantation camp held at govt school

CHANDIGARH: A tree plantation camp was organised by State Bank of Patiala Sector 8 at Government Girls Senior Secondary School attended by Mayor Raj Bala Malik. A painting competition themed ‘save trees’ was organised among the students.
