This application has already bagged first prize in the app development competition,‘Code for Chandigarh’,organised by the Department of Information Technology,UT Administration. The team VRADARS’s tag line in the competition was ‘It starts with I and reaches You’

“We were walking through Sukhna Lake and witnessed a few guys passing vulgar comments on the girls passing by. We looked around to find the police or the government around us,but all we had was a smart phone in our hand. So,we thought, why not connect the citizens and the Administration via the cellular technology which is owned by all?” said Sharma,a team member.

The team won a trophy and an award of Rs 25,000 in the competition.

The team members stressed that a recent organisation of the Global Engineering Week (GEW) in the university helped them to learn from the world’s most renowned professors in the field of technology and that helped them a lot in developing the application.

Dr Madhu Chitkara,Pro Chancellor of Chitkara University said that the students has embarked on the path of innovation, which is a vision of the university.

She said that these students will be honoured by university as well. She further reaffirmed her complete support to any of the innovative initiatives coming from students or faculty members of the university.
