Chandigarh Administrations decision of hiking the registration charges of vehicles has been condemned by the city unit of Bhartiya Janta Party, that is demanding a roll back of the same.
The BJP leaders rue that during the Congress rule, prices of all commodities including petrol, diesel, rail fares, etc have witnessed an increase. They should have a good taxation system rather than increasing the registration fee, said BJP spokesperson Dr Dharinder Tayal. He also accused the Administration of conducting a slow registration process for the vehicles whose owners came for the registration for the past 15 days. Tayal said,The process was slowed down because the Administration wanted to profit from the hike in registration charges.
Dr Tayal alleged that the Congress-led government at the center and the local Congress MP Pawan Kumar Bansal have been turning a deaf ear to the problems of the common man.
The hike in registration charges was introduced by the Chandigarh Administration from April 1,2013.
