An Akali in (light) blue turban

The joke doing the rounds in some quarters in Punjab goes something like this: Is the Congress Prime Minister an Akali in a light blue turban? Ahead of Assembly elections,Manmohan Singh was ready to come to Punjab to inaugurate the Khalsa Heritage Complex,till state party president capt Amarinder Singh informed him that he had done the honours years ago.

Ahead of Assembly elections,Manmohan Singh was ready to come to Punjab to inaugurate the Khalsa Heritage Complex,till state party president capt Amarinder Singh informed him that he had done the honours years ago. After the polls,the Prime Minister was here to inaugurate the Bathinda refinery – something that the Akalis have been tom-tomming about. And now,when he seems to have given the nod for the inauguration of the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Airport in Mohali,all that the Congress leaders can do is to throw up their hands in air,in complete despair.
