After court order,TDI booked for cheating

The Mohali police have registered an FIR against Taneja Developers and Infrastructure (TDI) after a court order directed the police to book the company in a land-fraud case. TDI was booked on charges of forgery,cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property on charges of cheating,forgery under sections 420,465,467,468 and 471 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Navinpal Singh Saini,the complainant who moved the court seeking the registration of an FIR against TDI,on Tuesday alleged that not only are there at least 145 other victims who were duped by the company when it sold them commercial plots,there are also a large number of residents who were cheated when they bought residential plots.

On September 4,Judicial Magistrate (First Class) Pamelpreet Kaur Grewal issued an order which directed Mohali police to register an FIR against TDI. According to the order,Saini had paid around Rs 60 lakh to buy 204 square yards of commercial land in TDI City,MP-II division but was given only 102 square yards.
