AFTER THE Bharatiya Janata Party, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has now decided to take up the cause of protecting cattle and announced a state-wide campaign to highlight the problem of stray cattle.

The party members on Thursday said the party would start a state-wide campaign to protect cows under the leadership of Naveen Jaihind, Haryana convener for AAP.

“BJP government is active only in making announcements. They have only made false promises of protecting cows. The poor condition of cows is evident from the fact that they are abandoned in large numbers and end up feeding on garbage,” said Nipun Kapoor, AAP district president.

She said that the party workers would visit various areas on August 20 and show the pitiable condition of stray cattle in the district.

“The government had made several announcements in the name of cow protection, but how many of them have been implemented. The number of stray cattle is huge in all districts,” she said.

The AAP members said that they would gherao the chief minister’s residence on August 26 and highlight the issue.
