A day before Gurdaspur Lok Sabha bypoll results, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Saturday dissolved its party units in both Gurdaspur and Pathankot districts with immediate effect. Punjab AAP secretary Gulshan Chhabra made the formal announcement in Chandigarh on Saturday.

The dismal efforts made by the district unit office bearers in Gurdaspur bypoll led to this decision, said senior AAP leaders.

According to Chhabra, the decision to dissolve Gurdaspur and Pathankot party units has been taken after extensive deliberations and feedback from Punjab AAP state president and Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann and co-president and MLA from Sunam Aman Arora. Chhabra said the new structural units of both Gurdaspur and Pathankot districts would be announced soon. ENS
