For four days,Virender Yadav has been waiting for his son at the lawn opposite the emergency ward in Jalandhar Civil Hospital for any news about his son Monu, who was working at the Shital Fibres factory when it collapsed.
His wait, however, ended on Thursday with Monus body being recovered from under debris at the factory site.
Monu was working on the second floor of the ill-fated four-storey building.
Virender, who had brought his son to Jalandhar from Bihar a year ago,has been working in one of Shitals units for the last 12 years. Monu was working in the same unit for the last one year. I was waiting in the hospital because I was not allowed to visit the site by the policemen on duty there, said Virender.
I was pleading with the security guards to allow some of us inside so that we could help them spot trapped people. Neither security guards nor factory officials allowed us inside, he added.
