3 Afghan students held for impersonation in examinations

In the last two days,the Chandigarh Police has arrested three Afghan students who were allegedly caught in acts of impersonation in the semester examinations being conducted in Government College,Sector 11 and the examination conducted in a school in Sector 11.

In the last two days,the Chandigarh Police has arrested three Afghan students who were allegedly caught in acts of impersonation in the semester examinations being conducted in Government College,Sector 11 and the examination conducted in a school in Sector 11.

Mir Ahmed and Safullah were arrested by the police on April 29. According to the police,Mir Ahmed was appearing in an examination of Political Science of Bachelors of Arts,second year. He was caught by a flying squad and the police was informed,who later arrested the duo.

Both the accused were arrested on charges of cheating and impersonation. The accused were remanded to judicial custody by the court.

Another case was registered by the police against Mujeeb-ur-Rehman and an unknown person. Mujeeb-ur-Rehman appeared in the examination of an Indian student at the Government School,Sector 11 on April 29.

While Rehman was arrested and is remanded to a one-day police custody to determine if his handwriting matches,another person,who was allegedly impersonating fled as the flying squad raided the examination centre,said a police official. Rehman has been booked on charges of cheating.
