176 judicial officers to undergo induction programme

A total of 176 newly appointed judicial officers from Punjab and Haryana and three from Sikkim will undergo a year-long training induction programme at Chandigarh Judicial Academy.

A total of 176 newly appointed judicial officers from Punjab (83) and Haryana (89) and three from Sikkim will undergo a year-long training induction programme at Chandigarh Judicial Academy.

An induction ceremony was held at the Judicial Academy on Sunday afternoon. Justice Jasbir Singh,acting Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court,who is also the Patron-in-Chief of the academy,inaugurated the programme.

The selected officers will undergo a regular and field training,including police training and lectures at the academy.

Singh apprised the officers of the need to develop self discipline and time management,and distributed books on judicial ethics to all the newly recruited officers.

Kulbir Singh Dhaliwal,president of the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association; Lekh Raj Sharma,Chairperson of the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana; Justice Surya Kant,president of Board of Governors Chandigarh Judicial Academy; Justice Rajesh Bindal,member of the Board of Governors of the academy; and Punjab and Haryana High Court judges were also present.
