After rounding up over 300 residents of Palsora village on suspicion,the Chandigarh Police is yet to identify the accused in the murder of the 10-year-old girl whose body was found in Sector 52. Those questioned included youngsters with a background of substance abuse,those living alone,taxi and three wheeler drivers and vegetable vendors.
The Chandigarh Police is now shifting the focus of investigation towards the dump data received from seven telecom companies in Palsora village. Dump data of an area displays all mobile phones that are active in an area at a particular time.
Police is also awaiting a reply to queries it had sent to the doctors who conducted the post-mortem of the girl.
On December 3,a set of questions had been sent to the doctors related to findings of the post-mortem to get further clues. These included the duration of time between the girls death and the body being found,the nature of injuries on the body and the source of blood in the nostrils and around the ears of the deceased.
The post-mortem report of the girl had suggested she was sexually assaulted before being murdered. According to sources,vaginal injury and injuries on the neck were found on her body.
A resident of Palsora village,the deceased was reported missing on November 27. Later,the Chandigarh Police found her body in a jute sack near the forest area in Sector 52.
