Chandigarh: Six arrested for firing incident at Ram Darbar

The incident was captured on the CCTV cameras installed at the place, which helped the police to nab the accused.

A Day after a group of youths fired two gunshots at a house in Ram Darbar in Industrial Area, Phase II, police arrested six persons in connection with the case on Monday. The accused were identified as Vijay Pal, Vinay, Sagar and Manish. Two of the accused are juveniles. All the six accused are residents of Ram Darbar, where the incident took place.

The incident was captured on the CCTV cameras installed at the place, which helped the police to nab the accused. Around 10 youths with swords and sharp weapons were allegedly caught on CCTV cameras.

According to the police, Gaurav, a resident of Ram Darbar, had an altercation with the youths last month. On Sunday, the accused came and allegedly fired two gunshots at Gaurav’s house. Nobody was injured in the incident.

The accused managed to escape from the spot. Police teams rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation. Jasbir Singh, station house officer, Sector 31 Police Station, said: “A case has been registered. We have started the investigation and arrested six persons. They would be taken in police custody for further interrogation.”
