Bank cash van loot: Mastermind held, Rs 62 lakh recovered so far, says Punjab Police

Less than a week after Rs 1.18 crore was looted from a ATM cash van, Punjab Police have arrested three more suspects from Rajasthan, including the mastermind, and recovered Rs 62 lakh in cash. The alleged mastermind, who is an MSc in computers, worked at a mill in Hamira in Kapurthala. So far, five out of seven accused in the case have been arrested. Police have also recovered a country-made pistol and .315 bore pistol along with live cartridges.

Both Jalandhar and Kapurthala police are part of the SIT probing the case. IG, Jalandhar, Arpit Shukla informed that during investigation it had come to light that some accused had run towards Rajasthan and then a team was sent there. Police raided the house of the maternal uncle of one of the accused, Manoj Kumar Sharma, in Balra village of Sikar district in Rajasthan and arrested the three.
