The city police have begun probe into rape complaint filed by a 24-year girl from Mumbai. The victim alleged that she was abducted from a bus stop at double-road at Shanthinagar in a car by four-unidentified men who took her to White Field and sexually assaulted her on Saturday night.

The victim, an employee of a massage parlour, was waiting for a bus, when the suspects offered to drop her to her residence. The unsuspecting girl boarded the vehicle, however when she noticed that the vehicle was taking the wrong route near Bellandur, she protested to which the suspects assaulted her. Later, they stopped at an apartment near White Field, sexually assaulted her and pushed her from the flat. She fractured one leg and was taken to the hospital by some local residents, the police said citing the victim’s statement.

However, during the preliminary probe, contradictory testimony was given by a friend of the victim who claimed that the victim boarded a friend’s  car at 18th cross Malleshwaram. They were joined by two more friends from Bellandur, who started misbehaving with her. She dashed out of the vehicle as it slowed down and rushed into a residential apartment. However, she fell down and fractured her leg, the friend claimed.
While the police have registered a case under IPC sections 366 (abduction), 376 (rape), 307 (attempt to murder) and 394 ( voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery), the victim protested against medical examination at the Victoria hospital and the doctors conveyed same to the police. Meanwhile, police are examining the statements and are also on a lookout for the suspects.
