A woman has been booked for murdering her brother who was found dead under suspicious circumstances. The victim,Mukesh Sawarya, was found with multiple stab wounds in a pool of blood in the kitchen of his home in Chhaprabhata locality’s Manmandir Society. The crime was reported by one Dinesh Mangudia, who is married to one of Sawarya’s three sisters.

Sawarya, who was working as a clerk in a construction firm, had not turned up for work for the last couple of days and his cellphone had been switched off. Mangudia, who worked with him, decided to go to his home on Thursday morning. After finding the main door locked,he peeped inside the room and saw his brother-in-law’s body.

Mangudia immediately informed police who opened the main door and took charge of the body. Upon opening another locked room, police found Sawarya’s mentally unstable mother,Prabhaben, inside.

Sawarya lived in the house with his mother and sister,Bhumika. Since Bhumika is absconding, police suspect her.

The Amroli police took statements of neighbours and Mangudia and learnt that Sawarya and Bhumika fought often. Amroli police inspector K G Limbachiya said,“We suspect the involvement of Bhumika in the murder of her brother. We are trying to trace her.”
