Two arrested with 1,400 mine blasting devices

We are investigating the duo’s claim that they were involved only in mine blasting in the area, said the Police.

 The Chhota Udepur Special Operation Group (SOG) on Sunday arrested two persons with 1,400 mine blasting devices or nitro-mixer gelatine from the town’s prominent Library Road area. While the police say there is no prima facie evidence to suggest that the two accused were involved in any major criminal operation, the police are investigating the duo’s claim that they were involved only in mine blasting in the area.
RM Mudhava, Inspector, SOG, Chhota Udepur said, “We arrested Dilip Soni and Vasant Khanu Naik under various sections of the Explosive Act and an FIR has been lodged against them.
Bag-snatchers’  gang busted
 The Ahmedabad Crime Branch has busted “Gwala gang” of Assam on Sunday that allegedly was involved in bag snatching cases in the city. The arrest led to detection of 16 loot cases in the city where cash over Rs. 50,0000 was looted on roads from bags of businessmen and traders. The accused were identified as Tipu Gwala (28), a native of West Bengal and Arnkumar Sha (26) of Assam.
The duo were arrested with two motorbikes worth Rs 1.40 lakh and stolen cash of Rs 53,100 in Maninagar.  ACP, M D Chaudhary said, “The duo are a part of the nine member gang of Assam that used to conduct loot and bag-snatching cases in the city and escape to their native villages after committing crimes.”
