Truck with Rs 25 crore cash looted,abandoned

A truck loaded with cash and valuables worth Rs 25 crore was robbed by unidentified people late on Monday night on the Bagodara highway in Ahmedabad district.

A truck loaded with cash and valuables worth Rs 25 crore was robbed by unidentified people late on Monday night on the Bagodara highway in Ahmedabad district. The truck,which belonged to a courier company,was on its way to Rajkot from Ahmedabad.

Police said valuables worth Rs.1.7 crore were seized from the truck that was found abandoned in Deesa of Banaskantha district on Tuesday.

According to police,the truck driver and cleaner,were made to stop when a mini truck overtook them on the highway. About six men got hold of the duo and beat them up them before fleeing with the truck. Parmar and Patel then informed the police and their owner,Vishnu Patel,who runs the angadia firm Ishwarbhai Bechardas at Sarangpur in Ahmedabad.

An FIR is yet to be filed in the case,police said.
