Four pet dogs were found locked inside a house in the city’s Airport area after their owners escaped four days ago following cases of cheating filed against them in Kishanwadi police station.

The dogs,a Great Dane,Rottweiler,Cocker Spaniel and a Pug,were left unattended after their owners went missing.

The owners,Urwesh Bhatt and Vaishali Bhatt, had apparently escaped with the entire family, leaving behind the dogs unattended since then said Snehal Bhatt, who runs an NGO,Wildlife SOS.

“Cocker Spaniels and Pugs are very sensitive to heat, and they like to stay indoors. But the way they have been shut outside the house must have caused them immense trouble. None of the dogs have been fed since their owners left them in this condition,” Bhatt said.

The husband-wife duo are facing cheating cases for allegedly duping one Jugar Patel through a bogus online investment company ’Wealthline Investments’ which they floated in 2009.

Patel filed a cheating case against them on June 4 at Kishanwadi police station.

“I invested Rs 2.8 lakh in the Company, which promised me a handsome return of 15% per month. I received the returns only twice but did not receive any money after. They had promised to give me back my money in March 2012,but they refused to pay me anything,” Patel said.

The duo floated a number of bogus investment companies allegedly to cheat gullible investors.

They were also running two other companies,‘Wey2Life’ and ‘Swiss Mutual Fund’ from Bharuch.

“The police have handed over the dogs’ custody to us till the owners return,” said Bhatt.
