Teachers to be honoured with Eklavya awards tomorrow

Tomorrow,as the country celebrates Teacher’s Day,seven teachers,including a Urdu medium municipal corporation teacher,will be presented the Eklavya Excellent Educator Awards for this year. The award is instituted by the Eklavya Education Foundation.

A six-member jury,headed by Prof Rakesh Basant of the IIM-A,selected the winners from out of 30 entries received this year. The Excellent Educator Award is shared by Kanhaiyalal Somabhai Patel (Shakti Vidyalaya,Chandlodiya) and Vemuri Alivelu Manikyamba,who teaches Biology at Anandniketan School,Shilaj. Two teachers have jointly won the Excellent Young Educator Award. The first winner is Mohammed Irfan Shaikh (27),who teaches at Shahpur Urdu School number 1 (Shahpur) and Urvishkumar Vinodbhai Pandya (27),Sports and Hindi teacher at Diwan Ballubhai Primary School,Paldi. Eklavya Excellent Sanskrit Educator Award was won by Nitin Acharya of Podar International School (Chandkheda).

Eklavya Excellent Institute Builder Award was bagged by Bachubhai Kachrabhai Patel,principal of Sheth C M High and Higher Secondary School,Gandhinagar. Hemantbhai Shah,principal of Prakash Higher Secondary School,Bodakdev,has won the Excellent Life Time Achievement Award.
