A newborn baby died on Tuesday after being thrown from the second floor of a residential apartment here allegedly by an unmarried minor girl soon after delivery, police said. The incident took place at the posh Neelkanth Residency apartments in Adajan locality. The residents informed police after finding the remains of the newborn girl, Surat Police PRO G S Raol said. “A minor girl today threw her newborn baby to death from second floor of the apartment soon after she delivered her,” Raol said.
“The remains of the newborn have been sent for post-mortem and police will file a murder case after receipt of the report. We have also seized CCTV footage from the apartment in which the baby is seen falling from it,” he further added.
