State to get CNG at cheaper rate

The Gujarat High Court on Tuesday disposed off a litigation that demanded supply of CNG to Gujarat at the same rate as Mumbai and Delhi. A division bench comprising Chief Justice Bhaskar Bhattacharya and Justice J B Pardiwala took this step following the Central Government’s submission that it was ready to provide gas to Gujarat at Dahej subject to statutory tariffs and that the formalities for the same were expected to be completed within a few days.

The HC was hearing a petition moved by Dhrangadhra Prakruti Mandal,a voluntary organisation,against the Centre for not complying with the court’s earlier order to provide cheaper CNG to Gujarat.

On Tuesday,Joint Secretary,Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas,P K Singh,was present in court.
