The Gujarat Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its 181-member State Executive Committee,completing the entire reorganisation of the party. Party spokesman I K Jadeja said Tuesday the state BJP,with its 439 members,was a three-tiered structure. The partys Executive Committee members represent all districts,communities and professions,he said.
Members from all castes and communities,turncoats from other parties and prodigals have been accomodated in some or the other capacity,with at least a dozen Patels appointed in the state executive body headed by Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
Jadeja said the party membership in Gujarat had gone up from 24,17,084 in 2009 to 43,81,881 now due to addition of another 15,31,797 members in 2012. He said over a dozen new entrants from various parties were given place. These include Narhari Amin,Girish Parmar,Vitthal Radadiya,Brijrajsinh Jadeja,Sunil Oza,Lalsinh Vadodiya,Bhavan Bharvad,Tusharsinh Baria,Nalin Bhatt and Laxman Patni,among others. The minority community is represented by retired IPS officer A I Saiyed,Gani Kureshi,Ilyas Khan Pathan,Sajjad Heera,ex-Congress member Asifa Khan and Sufi Sant Maheboobali Bava Chishti.
