Robbers strike at courier firm,loot Rs 26 lakh

A group of five armed robbers entered a courier firm in Vyara town of Tapi district on Saturday afternoon and looted cash and jewellery worth Rs 26.71 lakh after tying up the manager and a customer to a chair.

A group of five armed robbers entered a courier firm in Vyara town of Tapi district on Saturday afternoon and looted cash and jewellery worth Rs 26.71 lakh after tying up the manager and a customer to a chair. The incident happened at Patel Arvind Kantilal Courier firm. Manager Umesh Vaghela said they beat him up and later tied him and a customer to a chair and snatched the locker keys at gunpoint. Tapi district superintendent of police Sharad Singhal,who visited the spot with a team,said,“We have sent teams at exit points like the railway station and the state transport bus stand. We suspect an insider must have passed information to the robbers.”
