The residents of the Madhavnagar society in Atladara met Vadodara Urban Development Authority (VUDA) officials on Tuesday to discuss an alternate arrangement for the twin building collapse victims. They also submitted a memorandum to District Collector Vinod Rao,seeking immediate action on the rehabilitation plan.

A committee member of Madhavnagar society,Santosh Jadhav, said,“We met the engineers and the town planning officers of VUDA. We have demanded that they must speed up the rehabilitation process as it is two weeks since we are on the streets.”

However,VUDA officials refused to comment on the meeting with the residents, but they said,“The policy decision by the state government is expected to come later this week. It will enable us to draw out an action plan to rehabilitate these people accordingly.”
