Rahul Gandhi will begin his two-day trip to Kutch,Saurashtra and north Gujarat on Sunday. While it remains to be seen how much of a poll impact his Gujarat visits will make, his previous tour has certainly made a definite impact on the menu of the M S University (MSU) canteen.
Rahul Gandhi made a surprise visit to the MSU and interacted with students at the Science faculty canteen. Now,the canteen-owner has reprinted the menu with the Congress general secretarys photographs and renamed every dish after him. Canteen-owner Vishwanath Shetty said he was highly impressed by Rahuls simplicity. On February 22 and 23,Rahul will visit Kutch,Saurasthra and north Gujarat where the Congress has been traditionally weak in the wake of the emergence of the Janata Party and subsequently the BJP in the state.
On February 22,he will interact with handicraftswomen in Bhujodi village in the interior of Kutch district. He will also meet Youth Congress workers and leaders of the nearby village. After Bhujodi village,he will drive to Rajkot where he will interact with young girls at a state-level convention and also visit a membership booth. The same day,he will visit Patan and address a state-level Scheduled Caste youth convention. Thereafter,Rahul, who is also an MP from
Amethi in Uttar Pradesh, will visit Himmatnagar in Sabarkantha district to interact with the young farmers.
On February 23,he will begin his day with a trip to Gandhinagar where he intends to visit a membership booth and meet local Youth Congress workers. He will finally visit Ahmedabad, where he will meet young professionals like doctors, engineers, architects, chartered
accountants, and students of the Indian Institute of Management.
