Prohibitory order in Ahmedabad from October 7

The violation of the orders attract action under Section 188 of the IPC, the city police chief stated in a release. It cited security and terror issues for issuing the prohibitory order.

City Commissioner of Police A K Singh on Thursday issued an order prohibiting assembly of four or more persons, public meetings or taking out processions in his area of jurisdiction with effect from October 7, 2017 till October 22, 2017.

In a separate order, the city police chief has asked mobile phone dealers to maintain register containing details of buyers of old devices and SIM cards for three years. The order also asked PCO operators to maintain a register of callers’ names, photocopies of address proof and identity cards. The order will remain in force till December 8, 2017.
