Promises to raise age limit for govt job recruitment to 35 yrs

Keeping an eye on the votes of educated unemployed youths who had crossed the age limit for government jobs, the state Congress on Monday announced that it would raise the maximum age limit for joining government service to 35 years if the party came to power after the 2012 elections. At present, the maximum age limit is 25 years.

Announcing the party’s seventh point under their Gujarat Praja Vikas Darshan-2012,state unit president Arjun Modhwadia,Congress Legislature Party leader Shaktisinh Gohil and election campaign committee chairman Shankersinh Vaghela said they would also scrap the policy of appointments on consolidated salary for five years before absorbing them into permanent service.

They termed the Narendra Modi government’s policy as exploitation.

They promised to frame a policy for the unemployed under which 80 per cent of jobs in private sector, even in Tata’s Nano car factory, would be reserved for youths in the state.

Claiming that the Congress government would generate 10 lakh employments for the educated youth in five years, they promised to bring an Apprentice Act with stipend to be paid to 2.5 lakh youngsters to be employed every year as apprentice in private firms.

The party also announced to fill up one lakh vacancies in various government departments on full salaries immediately after they came to power.
