A bench of Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) Wednesday warned Gujarat government’s senior IAS officer Dhananjay Dwivedi of initiating contempt of court proceedings for not complying with the order it had passed with regard to non-payment of subsistence allowance to suspended IAS officer Pradeep Sharma.

The bench asked the state government to comply with the order that it had passed three months ago while adjourning the matter for further hearing on July 3. Following the summons,Dwivedi, additional secretary,General Administration Department (Personnel) appeared before the bench. The bench asked Dwivedi to explain the reason that why its order was not complied. The bench said,“You will be forcing us to take action against you and to initiate suo motu contempt of court case against you.

Sharma had been arrested by the state police in multiple cases ranging from financial irregularities to corruption including the Bhuj market yard scam.
