Having gone off air a day after being launched in the first week of October because of a technical snag,NaMo TV,apparently eponymously named after Chief Minister Narendra Modi, finally went on air again on Tuesday on cable TV networks and on the Internet.
On Tuesday, the channel telecast a garba penned by Modi. The CM also simultaneously posted the lyrics and a video of a garba set to his own composition on his website.
NaMo TV also replayed Modis Swami Vivekananda Yuva Vikas Yatra interspersed with interviews of former minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama and MLA Shankar Chaudhary.
The channel has been given licence under Gujarat Cinema Regulation Act,2004 and under the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act,1995.
While giving its nod to the channel a few days ago,the Election Commission had imposed certain conditions on it. One of these is that all political advertisements relayed during election period are first cleared by the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee set up by EC before they are telecast.
The BJP is also in the process of signing contracts with major DTH service operators for broadcasting NaMo TV channel.
