Father of city gangster Mukesh Harjani Dolat has reportedly gone underground after being named as an accused in the murder case of Vadi tailor Dinesh Jinger. He is also wanted in a case of now-foiled conspiracy to kill four of Mukeshs rivals.
Detection of Crime Branch (DCB),which is investigating the cases, have paid several visits to the senior Harjanis residence in Warasia area of the city but have drawn a blank so far. Similarly, the sleuths attempts to arrest one Sardar,a resident of Madhya Pradesh who supplied weapons to execute the now-unsuccessful contract killing of four and one of which was used to kill Jingar subsequently, have failed.
We have been searching Dolats residence but he has not been found there and remains out of our reach as of now, DCB police inspector K S Desai said on Tuesday.
While in Vadodara Central Jail in last November,Mukesh allegedly gave a contract to his sharpshooter Jenti Patel to kill Kalpesh Kachhiya,Durgaprasad Asnani,Mittal Hande and Lachhu Bhuria for Rs 35 lakh. The four had filed cases against the gangster and the latter feared that they would testify against him in the court.
Through an aide named Satish alias Satto Mohnani,Mukesh asked his father to give Patel Rs 50,000 to buy weapon for executing the killings, police say. Mohnani gave Rs 40,000 to Patel and the latter bought two pistols and cartridges from Sardar, who lives in Arsodia village in MP near Gujarat border.
After purchasing the guns,Patel and his three aides fired at a gym trainer mistaking him for Kachhiya in last December but missed the target. However,Patel used either of the pistol to shoot his friend Jinger dead in his shop in Vadi on May 13.
