MSU forms panel to probe bribery charges against Raina

M S University (MSU) has formed a seven-member committee to investigate the allegations of bribery against B L Raina,in-charge director,Centre for Continuing Education,MSU.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau had caught Raina five days ago for demanding Rs 15,000 for passing the bills of a private computer education institution,The Digital Work Station.

After his release on bail,Raina was re-arrested on Thursday following recovery of foreign liquor from his cupboard during investigation.

Vice-Chancellor Ramesh Goyal said: “A committee has been formed. It includes Prof Aruna Khasgiwala,Dean,Faculty of Social Work; Prof Amit Dholakia from the Faculty of Political Science; Prof A V Ramachandran,Dean,Science Faculty; Prof N Rajaram from the Department of Sociology; Prof H C Dholakia,former Dean of Law Faculty; Shashi Tuteja,Reader of the Home Science Faculty,and Prof Laxman Chamiyal of the Geology Department.”

Prof Sharad Bansal,Head of Department,Cooperative,will remain in-charge of the Centre for Continuing Education till a new appointment is made,according to officials.
