In a new twist to the Vishwa Patel missing case, her parents have denied that the girl shown in a CCTV camera footage, collected recently by the Ahmedabad Detection of Crime Branch,is her daughter.

The footage shows a girl walking away from the house. The family had initially confirmed that the girl in the video was Vishwa. They now said that they were under pressure so they “believed it was Vishwa”.

The DCB had collected a CCTV grab from a construction site in Vejalpur that is located near Vishwa’s residence. The footage reportedly showed a girl matching Vishwa’s descriptions crossing the road and moving out of the Vejalpur area.

Vishwa’s mother Priti said,“When I watched the video after rewinding it several times,I observed the girl in the video was wearing a salwar kameez while Vishwa was in her home clothes; leggings and a t-shirt. Moreover,I had braided her hair in the morning and the girl in the video has loose hair.”

ACP (Crime) Mayur Chavda said,“We don’t know why is the family retracting from their statements. We are certain that the girl in the video is Vishwa… At least the suspicion of abduction has been ruled out.”

Vishwa had gone missing on January 27 from a marriage ceremony at her apartment building.
