The much-awaited countrys first mini-golf course,announced during the 2012 Kankaria Carnival in the city,has turned out to be a four-feet wide AstroTurf laid between concrete partitions that winds its way around plants,stone sculptures,pillars and ‘Jharokhas’ in an area of 2,600 sq m at the Kankaria Lake Front in the eastern part of the city. The official release by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation,which executed this project with private partnership,claims,About 100 people can play at a time! This course,built under the public-private-partnership model at an estimated cost of Rs 3.5 crore,will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday evening. The project has been implemented by Ahmedabad-based Sky Wanderers Pvt Ltd.
