Met issues heat wave alert for 2 days in northern part of state

Heat wave conditions are most likely to prevail in parts of North Gujarat and Kutch region for June 6 and 7, the alert stated.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heat wave warning for North Gujarat and Kutch region for Monday and Tuesday.

On the other hand, IMD has also issued a forecast of light rain or thundershowers at isolated places in districts of South Gujarat region for coming two days. Heat wave conditions are most likely to prevail in parts of North Gujarat and Kutch region for June 6 and 7, the alert stated.

Already, on Sunday the highest temperature in the state was recorded 46 degrees Celsius at Idar followed by Surendranagar at 45.3 degrees. While Ahmed-abad and Deesa recorded 44.9 degrees Celsius, Gandhinagar hit 45 degree Celsius. Amreli was at 44.5, Vadodara at 44.1 and Bhuj at 43.5 degrees Celsius.
