Man injured after suicide bid in dry Sabarmati

A man sustained major injuries after an allegedly suicide attempted by jumping in “dry” Sabarmati river from Ellisbridge on Sunday,police said.

A man sustained major injuries after an allegedly suicide attempted by jumping in “dry” Sabarmati river from Ellisbridge on Sunday,police said.

After getting an information about the incident,the fire department officials rushed to the spot and rescued the man identified as one Girish Pandya (36),a resident of Paldi area. He was rushed to V S Hospital in the city with major injuries on his head and body,officials said.

According to rescue team,the victim sustained major injuries because of low water level in the river.

The Ellisbridge police registered a case of attempt to suicide and begun further probe in this connection.
