‘Job market open for pure sciences students’

Students pursuing courses in pure sciences need no longer feel inferior to those studying technical and professional courses as far as campus placement is concerned.

MG Science Institute,a premier pure science college,is one of the institutes in the state that has been approached by several industries in the last two years looking for students from various fields.

More than two dozen students from the geology (non-petroleum) department have found placements in the Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC) as also Gujarat Mineral Resources Development Society (GMRDS),besides 15 others from the statistics department selected by the TCS in the campus interviews.

Keeping in view the needs of the industries and to promote the job prospects of the students after completing their courses,the institute has revised several courses including statistics.

“There is no dearth of job opportunities for a pure science graduate nowadays if he/she is equipped with proper type of training pertaining to his branch because of the diversity of the job market,” Jain pointed out.

In-charge of placement cell,H V Pandya,said several corporate houses like Adani Power Ltd,and Reliance Chemicals recently approached the them for campus interviews of students from different departments.
