Illegal water connections: BJP MLAs seek action

BJP MLAs Yogesh Patel,Rajendra Trivedi and Jitubhai Sukhadiya elected from the three Assembly constituencies of Vadodara city on Sunday requested the municipal commissioner of the BJP-ruled Vadodara Municipal Corporation(VMC) to crack down on illegal water connections.

“The VMC had severed 2,300 illegal water connections in Manjalpur locality a couple of months ago,which were then legalised after I took up the issue with the VMC authorities,” Yogesh Patel said.

Patel,who represents Manjalpur constituency of Vadodara city in the state Assembly,said that the VMC’s annual yearly income had gone up by Rs 27 lakh after the regularisation of 2,300 illegal water connections in Manjalpur,a popular suburb of Vadodara.
