For the first time in India,a number of incubation centres running under premier business schools will host the iWeekend an event where groups of interested entrepreneurs and computer experts collaborate to bear an idea for an internet application and develop a prototype.
The Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship,IIM-As incubation wing, will host the iWeekend on the last weekend of March.
The iWeekend is a non-profit formed in 2008 in Spain by Luv Sayan,an Indian technologist, which acts as a facilitator and organiser of weekend events. According to Aditi Gupta,Senior Associate at CIIE,registrations are open for the iWeekend where groups will come up with multiple ideas and work in developing them into a prototype.
Then the officials at CIIE would decide on whether or not to incubate or locate a business mentor for the group that has come up with the best applications over the weekend. The first iWeekend will be hosted by IIM-Bangalores incubation centre, the Nadathur S Raghavan Centre for
Entrepreneurial Learning (March 12-14),followed by the TiE Delhi (March 19-21) and then CIIE (March 26-28).
