An Mi-8 helicopter of IAF rescued about 50 villagers,stranded in flood-hit Jamnagar district. People stranded in their fields and homes in Ranjitpar and Balamba villages were rescued after district magistrate N Upadhyay approached Air Officer Commanding of Air Force Station Jamnagar,Air Commodore PR Navalkar,stated an official release here. The crew found the stranded people,and finding no place to land near them as the entire area was waterlogged and slushy,decided to pick them one by one from low hover. At one of the places,the helicopter team rescued the villagers who were struggling to cross a fast stream with the help of an NDRF team. The villagers were taken to the safer areas,it added.
