The Gujarat High Court on Monday dismissed a petition that sought direction to the Gujarat Medical Council to implement a decision of the Medical Council of India to suspend the medical licence of Dr Ketan Desai,former MCI chief. The petition was moved by one Dr Kunal Saha. The petitioner had argued that Desai was facing cases of corruption and MCI had suspended his licence. However,GMC was not implementing the decision. Sahas lawyer said the court observed that no personal right of the petitioner has been violated.
Teachers in bloody protest,write to CM
AHMEDABAD: About 2,500 university and college teachers on Monday signed a memorandum with their blood and sent it to Chief Minister Narendra Modi and state Education Minister Raman Lal Vora in connection with their demands for better service conditions and payment of arrears,claimed president of Gujarat State Federation of UNiversity and College Teachers Association M M Raval,adding they will go on a strike from September 15 if their demands were not met.
Woman says her bag with Rs 10 lakh stolen
AHMEDABAD: A woman from Mumbai has filed a complaint claiming she lost a bag containing Rs 10 lakh at the ongoing exhibition at YMCA on Sunday night. The exhibition was inaugurated by actor Karisma Kapoor two days ago.
