Gulberg case accused in face-off with cops,booked

Six undertrials in the 2002 Gulberg Society killings case created a ruckus outside the special court at old High Court off Ashram road in Navrangpura area on Saturday.

Six undertrials in the 2002 Gulberg Society killings case created a ruckus outside the special court at old High Court off Ashram road in Navrangpura area on Saturday.

The undertrials were demanding that the police escort team allow them to wait for their family members who were supposed to come and meet them. When police refused to oblige and put them in the van to take them back to Sabarmati Central Jail,they allegedly started arguing with the policemen and created a ruckus.

Later,the escort team headed by police sub-inspector R J Gadhvi lodged an FIR against the six accused for obstructing government employee from discharging his duties and rioting.

The undertrials have been identified as Surendrasinh alias Vakil,Jayesh,Kailash Dhobi,Sandeep Ghunghruwala,Raju Dhimat and Jayesh kumar alias Gajjar.
