Gujarat set to get three pharma parks

Ananth Kumar, Union Minister of Chemical and Fertilizers, said Thursday that “brand India exists because of brand Gujarat”.

Announcing three pharmaceutical projects for Gujarat — a bulk drug manufacturing park, a pharmaceutical formulations park and a medical devices park — Ananth Kumar, Union Minister of Chemical and Fertilizers, said Thursday that “brand India exists because of brand Gujarat”. He said: “India is known as the pharmacy of the world, but Gujarat is India’s pharmacy… Today if there is any region where an ideal atmosphere for pharmaceuticals exists, then it is in Gujarat.” He was addressing the inaugural session of 7th edition of Pharmac India organised by Indian Drug Manufa-ctures’ Association. He said , “We have given you a challenge — both to the Gujarat government and the pharmaceutical industry. We are ready to give all the three parks, now go ahead and become a global pharma hub.”
