A LOCAL court in Jamnagar sent the owner of a private school to 14-day judicial custody and sent his minor son to special home for boys on Thursday after the duo were arrested by police for allegedly stabbing a man to death two days ago.

Vejananda Gojiya and his 17-year-old son were arrested by C Division police of Jamnagar city late on Tuesday evening. The father-son duo were picked up from the state government-run GG General Hospital in Jamnagar where they had been admitted after sustaining injuries in a bloody attack on Abha Ambaliya (25) on the evening of November 1. Gojiya, who runs a private primary school in Jamnagar, and his son had allegedly intercepted Abha in Gokulnagar area of Jamnagar when he was going on his motorbike and stabbed him multiple times in full public view. The victim had succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment, police said. “The accused had also sustained injuries while attacking Abha. They too had been admitted to hospital from where we picked them up and arrested them later,” said a police officer of C Division.
