Gujarat Govt announces 15-day Diwali parole for prisoners

Every year, the government extends such a relief to prisoners and undertrial during Diwali.

The state government on Monday announced parole for prisoners, who are 60-year-old and above, across the state in view of the Diwali festivities.

In a press release, MoS for Home Pradipsinh Jadeja said the government has approved 15-day parole for all prisoners, except the convicts or undertrials booked in serious criminal cases, including TADA, terror activities, prevention of anti-social activities Act and those confined to jail under Section 268 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

Every year, the government extends such a relief to prisoners and undertrial during Diwali.
