The Gujarat Technological University (GTU) plans to offer space to start-ups on its campus by the end of this month. GTU had flagged off an ambitious virtual initiative called “Student Start-up Support System” (S4) last year to enable its students to turn entrepreneurs. Now,the S4 initiative will get 1,500 sq ft of space inside the L D College of Engineering in Ahmedabad.

“We want to open a facility at our campus and start registering start-ups in the area of hardware and software technology,” said GTU Vice Chancellor A K Aggarwal.

“It is a decentralised start-up space where we will have three batches of students come and incubate their ideas. We will be looking at providing the students with mentorship support, equipment, technology and a number of co-creation workshops,” said Yash Saxena, the honorary coordinator of GTU’s S4 initiative.
