Girl murder: police announce reward for information on victim,accused

The Ahmedabad city police on Wednesday announced to reward anybody who provides any information about the identity of the eight-year-old girl whose body was recovered from the Sabarmati riverbed on March 23 and about the three suspects.

The Ahmedabad city police on Wednesday announced to reward anybody who provides any information about the identity of the eight-year-old girl whose body was recovered from the Sabarmati riverbed on March 23 and about the three suspects.

The body was found in front of Bhairavnath ni Chali in the Dudheshwar area. One of the arms of the girl,who was wearing a frock,was missing,while the body had several stab and blunt injuries.

The police have not yet made any breakthrough in the case.

Naranpura police inspector D A Desai,who is investigating the case,said in a press release that a person who gives information about the girl or about the three persons who dumped the body in the riverbed,will be suitably rewarded by the police.

“At the moment,we are unable to say whether the girl was raped before murder. We’ll have to wait till the postmortem report comes,” Desai said.
