The Gujarat High Court (HC) on Wednesday granted the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) board members the permission to convene a meeting as per their agenda, which includes passing a no-confidence motion against present GCMMF chairman Vipul Chaudhary. The court, however, has also ordered it not to implement any decision taken in the meeting till the prior permission of the court.

A division bench of HC,comprising Justices R R Tripathi and R D Kothari, passed an order in this regard while acting on an appeal moved by GCMMF against the order of a single-judge bench of HC recently.

Hearing a petition moved by Chaudhary, that had challenged a meeting called by 14 of the 17 board members of the federation to pass a no-confidence motion against him,a single judge bench of HC had,as an interim relief, barred he federation from holding the meeting till the final disposal of the petition.

Aggrieved by this order that barred it from even conducting the meeting, the federation had moved an appeal before a division bench, urging it to let it hold the meeting.
