THE LOCAL Crime Branch (LCB) of Bhuj West police Tuesday recovered flame cutters, gas cylinders and other tools from a guest house in Bhuj. Their owners, who police suspect were a gang of thieves, remained out of reach.

A team, led by LCB police inspector Jagdish Raol, raided Sagar Guest House near Kutch district panchayat office in Bhuj late on Tuesday. They recovered two small cylinders of LPG, two flame cutters, wrench tools, screw drivers and other tools.

“During our search of the guest house on March 5, we noted that nine persons from Jharkhand and Bihar had put up there. We asked the guest house manager to inform us when the said guests return. But they have not returned till today. We suspect that the nine were a gang with intention to target some ATM. But given the terror alert, we are looking at the development from all angles,” AK Jadeja, inspector general of police (border wing) in Kutch said.

LCB police inspector Jagdish Raol said that search was still on. “We shall file a non-cognisable offence and continue investigation,” he said.
