After cricket,neighbours India and Pakistan are all set to compete for accolades in the field of entrepreneurship.
Gandhinagar-based Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) will vie with IBA Karachis Centre for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) and two other global institutes,after it became one of the top four finalists for awards in excellence in entrepreneurship education.
This award has been instituted by the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE). The two other institutes in the fray are Queens University,Belfast,and Center for Entrepreneurship,Moscow.
The institutes have been shortlisted in the category of Outstanding Emerging Entrepreneurship Program Abroad,as part of the excellence entrepreneurship education awards,constituted by USASBE,which is a leading entrepreneurship research and teaching body in the world.
The awards will be based on a presentation given by the finalists at a conference in Fort Worth,Texas,USA,in January that will be adjudged by a jury.
We sent our nomination this year for our flagship PGDM-BE (Post Graduate Diploma in Management-Business Entrepreneurship). Last month,we had received accreditation for this course from the National Board of Accreditation, said Sunil Shukla,Chief Faculty at Centre for Entrepreneurship,Education and Research (CEER),under the aegis of which the PGDM-BE course is run.
The PGDM-BE began as a one-year course in 1998 at EDI and was later converted to a two-year course in 2008 after a AICTE nod.
