Former Congress MLA from Limbdi,Bhavan Bharvad,on Tuesday joined the BJP in the presence of senior leaders.
Accusing Congress of failing to play a constructive Opposition,Bharvad claimed his entry into the BJP would make a difference of at least five per cent in seats won by the saffron party.
The former MLA said he had been toiling in the Congress like a donkey for 25 years, but in vain.
Praising CM Narendra Modi,Bharvad said it was because of Gujarats progress made under him that Cyrus Mistry, successor to Ratan Tata, went to meet Modi before meeting the Prime Minister.
Gujarat BJP vice-president I K Jadeja said Bharvad left the Congress due to the UPA government giving sub-quota to minorities at the cost of other backward castes.
